What does it cost?
Let’s start by asking what YOUR time is worth? Because essentially what my service does, is give you more time.
Every week of our lives consists of 7 days of 24 hours. In total that is 168 hours per week. If you work a full time job, that whittles it down to about 128 hours. If you get the recommended amount of sleep, we are now down to 72 hours. Factor in laundry, housework, commuting, grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, showering, grooming and we get an average of 16 hours a week that belong to you and you alone.
Chef Jimma can give back to you, seven to eight hours every week.! What will you do with this amazing gift of time? Learn a new language? Take up knitting, Take up napping? Actually read a novel? TP your annoying neighbor’s tree? Hey, I’m not here to judge. Just here to make your life easier!
The other two problems we solve are stress and hassle. Having to come up with meals every day is stressful to be sure! Having to take in everybody’s likes and dislikes, nutritional needs, and to try and keep things interesting. Then once you have an idea or two, you have to haul yourself to the store and hike up and down all the isles to get all the ingredients. Now you lug the ingredients home and start to cut and chop only to find out, you forgot one or two things you absolutely need! Back in the car with you. After shopping, chopping, re-shopping, preparing, and serving, somebody in your loving crew looks at it and says, “I don’t like it”. Ouch! Insult to injury to say the least. Let me take all that on for you.
The session is designed to create a week of dinners for two parents and two children.
The grocery bill is typically $130 - $220. Groceries are already figured into the price of my services and is not an additional fee. The rest of the fee covers 8 hours of labor at $50/hour.
Some of the meals will be frozen for later in the week, but will be put in your fridge. They take several days to thaw. That way they will still be at the peak of freshness even on the last day of the week. The others will be refrigerated and ready to heat up for dinner.
The first meal of your first order, I will prepare for you in your home. This way I can show you the best way to bring your meals to life. I can also explain any differences you might run into with the other meals in your order.
Once you are signed up, you just pick your meals and give us a call. We will confirm your order and decide on a day and time for delivery. After that, an invoice will be emailed to you. We do need a 50% deposit for your week of meals when you place your order. This is for me to purchase the ingredients for your meals. The balance is due upon delivery.
Currently, we are offering 2 packages. A full week of 7 daily meals for 4 people is going for $499. That is a little over $17 per serving. The second package is for people that do like to cook a couple days a week or like to go out to dinner a few days a week.. This would be 5 meals for 4 people which goes for $356.50. All of our meals arrive in airtight, glass containers that are freezer, dishwasher, and oven safe. When we make a second, third, fourth, etcetera, delivery, we pick up the previous set of containers and deliver your new meals in new containers. There is an initial $60 fee to cover the containers. When you are done using our services, you keep the containers. Even if you only use us for one week! However, if you sign up for a month of meals, that fee is waved!
